The Best Productivity “Tool”
Just a little Tweet thread I came up with after seeing someone ask what the best productivity tool was. Hope you like it / find it useful! Follow me here, and also on my Facebook page.
So many people searching for the ultimate #productivity tool but no tool works as well as the abilities to: (1) turn down unwanted work (and other obligations) and (2) trim the scope of your projects.

Delegation is crucial, too, but still takes time and energy. Saying no and trimming scope >>> delegating.

And delegation, done right, takes more time than a lot of people think. It’s not simply handing stuff over and “poof” it gets done. You have to train, support, manage, check the work, follow up. More like investing five hours to get ten or fifteen back from the “delegatee.”

If time is the ultimate luxury, it is also something that most people could have more of if they embraced a few truly simple habits. That’s true, in my experience, even for people who think they “have no time.” #timemanagement

And, finally: especially during stressful times much of what we consider “luxuries” are really essential. #selfcare now more than ever.

“How much self care do you need? The answer is, “as much as you need.” Part of self-care is listening to, and trusting, yourself.” https://t.co/sO95Yyk77S

Step #1: liberate yourself from the #perfectionist “cult of busyness.” Step #2: start saying no, cutting scope, and – when you can’t do the first two – delegating. These may be uncomfortable at first, but quickly become incredibly healing.
